I purchased this reel for my son. He has just begun to adventure into softbaiting fishing off the rocks with his friends. He had a budget of $150 and this reel has been perfect for him. Even I tried the reel on my Jetski and I was very impressed. It has a very fast retrieval rate and is easy to cast far distances with little effort. I caught a 27cm Kahawai with this reel and it was very easy to bring it in. I recommend this reel for beginner soft baiter's like ourselves. I also recommend 20lb braid.Often purchased together
