The 46T carbon construction is coupled with Okuma’s patented UMR (Ultimate Matrix Reinforcement) technology so while you maintain the sensitivity of a high modulus rod, you do not have to forgo on durability. Every rod has its limitations but with UMR, it maximises the performance of the materials adding enhanced reinforcing to vulnerable areas strengthening the overall action and minimizing weight.

The Okuma Kotare Topwater Rod is a truly outstanding topwater rod for chasing kingfish around New Zealand’s coastline. The lightweight 46T carbon blank and ultra-comfortable Winn Grip foregrip makes casting and working small to medium sized stickbaits all day a breeze. At 7'6t in length it is a great option for both boat and land-based stickbaiting. With its softer tip and powerful mid and butt sections it will swim stickbaits throughout its weight range with ease, and has some serious stopping power when required. Perfectly matched to a reel around the 8000 size range and will tackle most topwater kings around the country.
