The new generation Okuma Hakai low-profile Reel is developed with the latest technology and insights from top anglers across the globe. The main body uses Okuma's LITECAST® magnesium alloy construction for ultimate strength and lightweight use. At only 167g (5.9oz), the Hakai features a sleek compact body, designed for all day comfort on the water. Okuma has developed FLITE SPOOL™ and FLITE SHAFT™ technology into the Hakai. This allows for a super-tuned spool with unrivaled performance. The 33mm O/D all-purpose spool weighs only 9.5g total with the bearing. The Hakai also features a patented hollow stainless-steel SUS FLITE SHAFT™ with precision SUS balls and provides a perfect balance between weight, strength, and moothness. THE ROD
The Okuma Tournament Concept Overhead Boat Rods are built using Okuma’s patented Unidirectional Fibre Reinforcement technology. These rods, designed for Kiwi anglers by the team at Composite Developments, are manufactured using a patented process with an outer layer of longitudinal fibres around the rod blank to significantly increase strength and power in the tip section. This offers lifting power and strength up to four times conventional graphite rods. The 7ft 6-10kg and 7ft 10-15kg overhead rods are ideal for stray lining and general bottom fishing with a sensitive tip for bite detection, a fast taper for setting hooks and a huge amount of low-down power to extract big fish from reefy territory. The 6ft 15-24kg model is a great option for deeper water and more heavy duty requirements like the West Coast, and can also double as a kingfish live bait rod.
